About this book
Near the end of his life, Paul urges Timothy to guard the gospel and serve courageously through suffering and loneliness. He must develop his gift, entrust the truth to faithful teachers, and endure hardship. God’s servant turns from sin, handles Scripture faithfully, and corrects others with patience and gentleness. Paul warns against deceptive teachers and outward religion without changed lives. Scripture gives wisdom for salvation and equips believers for good works. Timothy must keep preaching the word and finish his calling faithfully, trusting the Lord’s presence and promised reward.
