About this book
Paul defends salvation through faith in Jesus against teaching that makes circumcision and observance of the law a means of being accepted by God. Abraham’s example shows that God’s promise is received by faith. In Christ, believers become God’s children and heirs, free from slavery. This freedom calls them to serve one another in love, not continue in sin. Walking by the Spirit produces a changed character, expressed through gentle restoration, shared burdens, and perseverance in doing good. Their confidence belongs in Christ’s cross rather than outward religious status.
