THE MESSAGE
Sermons, messages, and reflections from our notes.
Passages and reflections on Exodus 3:14, John 8:58, Matthew 9:2.
Is God real, is the Bible a white man’s religion, why can’t God just speak to me directly if He wants to talk, the Bible is not valid cz it was translated- like muslims have Torah and it’s Arabic.
Was Jesus God?
The claims he made himself:
Exodus 3:14
John 8:58
Matthew 9:2
The prophecies: 300 prophecies with 50 major prophecies
Did Jesus really die on the cross?
The flogging
"Roman floggings were known to be terribly brutal they usually consisted of thirty nine lashes but frequently were a lot more than that, depending on the mood of the soldiers applying the blows...
Did Jesus really die on the cross?
The floging
_The soldiers would use a whip braided with leather thongs with metal balls woven into them. When the whip would strike the flesh, these balls would cause deep brurses or confusions, which would break open with further blows. And the whip had pieces of sharp bone as well, wolich would cut the flesh severely.
Did Jesus really die on the cross?
The flaging
The back would be so shredded that part of the spine was at times exposed by the deep, deep cuts. The whipping would have gone down to the back, the buttocks, and the back of the legs. It ras just terrible.
He lost so much blood he was dying on way to cross
Did Jesus really die on the wross?
Cause of death:
"As the person slows down lus breathing. He goes into colal is called respirator ncidosis-the carbon dioxide in the blood is dissoled ns carbonic acul causing the acidity of the blood to incrense. This enentually lends to an irregular heart beat. In fact, with lus lieurt beating erratically, Jesus woult have knoren that he wous at the moment of death, unlich is when he cons able fo say. Lord into your hands I commit my Spirit" And then he died of ourdinc arrest.
"Even before he died.. The hypocolemic shock would have caused a sustained rapid heart rate that would have contributed to heart failure, resulting in the collection of fluid in the membrane around the heart, called a pericandia! effusion, as well as around the lungs, which is called pleural effusion.
"Why is that significant?'
Did Jesus really die on the cross?
Because of what happened when the roman soldier came around and, being fairly certain that Jesus was dead, confirmed it by thrusting a spear into his right side... The spear went through the right lung and into the heart, so when the spear was pulled out, some fluid - pericardial effusion and the pleural effusion-came out.
Did Jesus really die on the cross?
Romans were experts at crucifixion
Symptoms from the bible:
Fainting Luke 23:26
Thirsting John 19:28
Did /esus really rise from the dead?
Eye witress accounts
The 500 witnesses were around to verify the gospel accounts and the validity of 1
Corinthians 15. This proves that the belief of the resurrection did not developed over centuries as Christians blew it out of proportion. But the very people who saw the risen Jesus were alive to verify Paul's accounts in the epistles.
Jesus, Fact or Futions
When Jesus died the disciples got scared cz they were expecting him to overthrow the romans but when He rose, they were willing to die in order to tell the truth, they did it for free, no reward, financial gain or social status.
Did lesus really rise from the dead?
The chonge in the discuples
"Nero... inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace Christus, from whom the name had its origin suffered the extreme penalty at the hands of one of our persecutors, Pontius Pilate, and a most mischicvous superstition, thus checked for the moment broke out not only in Judea but also in
Rome"
Cornelius Tacitus, Annals, AD 116
Jesus, Fact or Fution
2 for 11:23- nobody would do this for a lie

Quotes: Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done.”
“A bit of science distances one from God, but much science nears one to Him.”
“The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.”
The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you.
Not only does creation prove of His existence but His word transform lives, if you don’t believe me, I dare you to go read the bible, ask Him to show himself you know, and come back and tell me He isn’t real. Those who don’t believe in Him simply choose not to cz Thyre comfortable living in sin. The bible says a fool says in his heart there is no God.
Is He the only true God tho: yep He’s truth, the God of the bible He’s the only living God, all other gods are the works of man
I don’t believe there’s only one way cz there are so many religions: there are so many religions cz the enemy over time has twisted truth and ppl beached off from the truth and defined their own truths. The religion that teaches only thus says the Lord (from the word of God) is the true religion
But those religions have their own books, how do we know their not the ones: The bible is the only word that can transform a person’s life cz it’s God-breathed, it’s Alive, it speaks to everyone generally, but also each individual on a personal level, it has guidance according to all aspects of life, the prophecies in the bible that have historical proof.
Why is He a He and not a she: God is Spirit, He has no gender but the Godhead is referred to as a family: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, that’s why we say He.
But if there’s a God and He’s good, why’s there so much evil, why does He allow suffering, why not destroy all evil people and we can live a world where there’s only good, no in Covent people dying, no innocent people being mistreated, raped etc: God is not the cause of suffering, He does not take pleasure watching His people suffer, He literally gave up His one and only son because He loved us so much, He couldn’t watch us suffer so He made a way for us through Jesus Christ. In the beginning before even Adam and Eve were created, all was well in heaven, till creation, lucifwr wanted to be creator. he was very beautiful so he got lots of complements from the other angels, he was higher than em all, when he started looking at himself, he started getting a big head and pride was found in him, than he no longer wanted to direct God the glory whom it belonged to but wanted it for himself.
Why didn’t God destroy him know all the destruction he would cause in future: God coulda snapped his fingers and his creation (lucifer) woulda been destroyed just like that but God is love, and if he was to destroy him like that, the other angels woulda become scared of Him knowing that if they rebelled in any way, what happened to Lucifer would also happen to them. Now God wants us to worship him willingly, in love, not being forced otherwise we’d be serving Him only cz we know we’d die otherwise. So he allowed it to play out, show the angels and the worlds surrounding how terrible sin is. Lucifer was cast down to this world and those he’d convinced to believe God wasn’t love but was controlling and scary etc
We then come to Adam and Eve, with the emptiness in heaven, God began creation and that’s where creation and us come in. After God made everything n declared it good, He then made man to rule over it and have fellowship with him. He gave them everything in that garden but because he is a God of free will, he asked them not to eat from just 1 tree, they had all else but that, they were given that option to disobey God cz if the tree wasn’t there, they’d only be worshipping Him cz they have no other alternative but God wants us to wan Him for ourselves, He doesn’t force anything, He is a gentleman. When Adam and Eve chose to listen to Satan’s voice instead of God, they had made their choice to disobey. Now the wages of sin is death. They had to die cz they sinned. We’ve all sinned so we must all die. When they listen to Satan, they gave him power of this earth so he could move mad, he could cause suffering and all evil which is why we should be asking instead in a world ruled by Satan, why is there so much good, cz God is good. When we sin willingly, we give satan the green light to come into our lives cz that which we obey is our master innit.
God is just so sin has to be punished, violating his law meant judgement, someone had to die cz the wages of sin is death, because He loves us so much, He wouldn’t allow that so He said, I will pay the price even though it’s you who should pay, because I love you. So the plan of redemption came into play, it always been but it came to play then. Adam and even thought they could hide their sin and shame themselves and went and got leaves but only God could cover our sins, only He could take away our sin and shame through his death, so He gave them lamb skin to cover them, foretelling that He the lamb of God would come to officially take away the sins of the world ( they shall call him Jesus), God would later come in human form to dwell with us and show us how we should live. Emmanuel God with us. Let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them, He’s always wanted to dwell among us. We serve a God who loves us so much, we can’t grasp his Love. There are videos of Emmanuel I’ve done if you guys want further explanation
He never intended for us to go through any of this but our choices brings it upon ourselves
It was Adam and Eve that sinned tho not us: okay but we’ve all sinned and fallen short of his glory, if we say we haven’t sinned we call him a liar 1 John 1:10, through one man, sun entered the world Romans 5:12
Jesus made a way for us cz He wants to restore that perfect world where sin and suffering will be no more.
