The fruit of kindness- sermon notes - 4/7/26

  • Ephesians 4:32
  • Intentional, selfless actions that show the heart of God
  • Psalms 145:14
  • Jer 9:24,31:3
  • Be kind without the motives of receiving back
  • Kindness can make such a huge difference, it can soften people’s hearts.
  • Were to extend kindness to **everyone **even those who ‘don’t deserve it’ to reflect God’s love
  • To live in kindness is to live in harmony with God’s will
  • Kindness is to forgive as He forgave, love as He loves and show mercy as He shows mercy to me
  • It’s not only a reflection of God’s love but grows us spiritually
  • It draws us closer to God
  • Luke 10:25-37 the Good Samaritan - go and do likewise
  • When we serve others selflessly, we showing others Christ’s character - walking Bible- kindness is love in action
  • Philippians 2:4 don’t only look out for my own interests but the interest of others first
  • James 2:14-16 love by words and not actions profiteth nothing
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?”
‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬- actions speak louder than words- we’re just loud annoying cymbals if I only speak about kindness, when no action.
  • the good comparison showed kindness not expecting anything back, sacrificing his own resources and time, putting himself in danger for stopping at the dangerous location, not looking at the skin colour or whatever difference they may had
  • Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13)- love in action.
  • How can I produce this fruit?

**Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. **

  • I too gotta stay connected (abide) with Jesus through prayer, time in His word and sharing about Him

  • **God is then glorified - **“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:8 by the fruit of kindness, His character is shown and God is glorified
