1 Corinthians Questions & Summary

Q&S - I have the right to do anything but I will not be mastered by anything? Not necessarily the right to but the freedom to practice whatever you desire. The previous chapters paul says that the people there were puffed/arrogant about the fact that they’re free in Christ and this comes to shed light on the fact that something though can be “allowed” doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Also avoiding things that can slowly weaken you spiritually/mind even though it’s not necessarily a sin. Like (social media, secular music…) - You say food for the stomach and stomach for the food and God will destroy them both? The saying that food for the stomach and stomach’s for the food isn’t correct as the body is described as a temple of God and saying “food for the stomach” is just not giving it the value it has as described in the later verses - Vs 14 by His power, God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise. - how does this correlate with the content in chapter 6? (What I just realized is that Paul is stating things that are being said by the people in Corinth and he correct them after, so they’re saying that food for the stomach and stomach’s for the food and God will destroy it anyways then Paul corrects them saying that the body will be raised and not meaningless but will be resurrected just like Jesus was. S: Paul asks the Corinthians why thyre taking their problems to the outsiders (unbelievers) instead of settling it between themselves. He reminds them that they will be judging the world and angels, so matters are little issues they should be able to handle with the wisdom of God. He also mentions that as Christians they shouldn’t be trying to get revenge but to allow it (kinda like letting them slap the other cheek) & also reminds the ones writing the writing that they cannot go to heaven if this behaviour is their lifestyle. Then he reminds them that although some things are not a sin, not all things are beneficial. And to remember that our bodies are members of Christ. That our bodies are the temples of God. Here’s its taking about the misunderstanding of freedom as they believed now that they’re in Christ who paid their penalty and continues to forgive them they can just do anything but the reminder is that not everything is beneficial or should control you so saying that genuine freedom isn’t being controlled by your desires but by God. He also reminds us that we are not our own, we’re God’s and we’re of high worth (bought with the blood of Jesus). He also mentions that all sins done externally but the sin of sexual lot immorality is committed against the body. Damaging u spiritual and physically. So to stay away.
