1 Corinthians Questions & Summary

Q&S - knowledge puffs up but love edifies? The wisdom often when in possession of people makes them arrogant/not humble but the knowledge of God is what produces all the fruits best for self-development and others. - Vs 2-3? When you think of yourself as someone who is knowledgeable it shows how much you don’t know yet because people with the wisdom of/from God think of themselves as fools for Christ and in that they’re lifted high. The more we know God, the less qualified we feel in all aspects of life, the more humility we express giving God the glory and not self. - Would food or drink from Hindus defile you act at they’ve offered it to their idols then offered it to you? No, but if u see them offer it to their idols, and then drink It? although it may not defile you, what message is it giving them? That it’s okay to sacrifice to their idols, that you agree? Therefore in that sense ur sinning cz ur causing them to stumble (by continuing to offer to idols and u agreeing by joining them n not saying anything. - People worshipping or sacrificing to idols- does it mean nothing? Thyre just being silly n wasting time, or are they worshipping the power behind that idol- Satan/demons? Although they are wasting time and ultimately kind of meaningless but For themselves they’re committing a sin against the second 1-2 commandment. Which all are the ways satan uses to get people away from God, whether it’s outright satanic worshiping or just idolizing things or people. - 1 Corinthians 10:20 (NKJV) “Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.”
