2 Corinthians Questions, Summary & Application

Summary: 1-2 Paul thinks he’s gonna come across as jealous by what he’s about to say so he apologises in advance, asking them to bear with him. He then says he has a godly jealousy, that they stay loyal to JUST Christ. 3-4, he addresses his concern on how they could easily be deceived just like Eve was deceived by Satan’s craftiness (false prophets- craftiness) bcz the message of the gospel is simple- even a child can understand, false prophets can come and try twist things around n deceive them- same way God gave Adam n Eve simple instructions- do not eat of the fruit or u shall surely die, Satan than came and twisted the simple instructions - did God really- making it seem like more to it, and eventually deceived- same way his workers can come and twist the simple gospel message, adding in extra and preaching a different Jesus- deceiving them. 4 Paul is concerned that when another message differing from the message of the gospel which he had shared, comes to them, they will receive it. 5-15 so Paul is saying he’s not inferior to the ones that exalt themselves (false teachers which were mentioned in previous chapter) he may not be able to speak as fluently as them (not trained in speech) but he has the knowledge (which comes from God) which has been evident to them in every possible way. 7 was he sinning by humbling himself so thyre exalted , by sharing the gospel of charge or voluntarily working them? He used support from other churches to minister to them. Even when with them, he asked nothing from them, what he needed Macedonia provided- he can boast in this cz it’s true. Why’d I do this- is it cz I don’t care or love you guys, God knows (he obviously did all that cz he genuinely cares)- cz the other apostles “false one” will not be doin all this. 12 I’ll continue to be like this so they have nothing to boast about. 13-15 they can’t claim to be true apostles cz they wouldn’t go the extra mile that the true apostles go to for the glory of God. For such (those who wouldn’t do the things we do for cause of God) are false apostles, deceitful workers pretending to be genuine apostles. If satan can himself to look like an angel of light, his monsters can also do the same (wolves in sheep’s clothing). Who will be judged according to their works. 16-21 he doesn’t want em to think he’s a fool by what he’s about to say (boasting) but if so, to bear with him as they would a fool. Paul then says what he’s about to say is not coming from God- (although it’s justifiable)but since others are boasting, he’s also about to- according to the flesh. He then gets sarcastic saying put up fools since u yourselves are wise. - since yall r wise, u should be able to put up with foolishness. He says they put up with those who treat them in the ways he lists, but to our shame we can’t do it like that, we’re to weak- we wouldn’t be able to do that (being led by the spirit)- thyre capable of doing that (led by the flesh). In whatever anyone is bold to speak. “I’m ashamed to say that we’ve been too “weak” to do that! But whatever they dare to boast about—I’m talking like a fool again—I dare to boast about it, too.” 2 Corinthians 11:21 NLT Like if they boast I’m happy to come across like a fool, I’ll boast too. 22-30 Paul then boasts- lists the things he’s done for the chaise of God. Also mentions his heaviest daily burden for the church, if thyre weak him too, if someone stumbles he burns with indignation- he struggles with them- he truly cares. He then seals what he just said with “God is my witness”. He then ends chapter off with saying what else he through (so still boasting).
