Galatians Questions & Summary

Chapter 5 ✅ QSA: Verse: Galatians 5:16 NKJV “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Application: We should know that the freedom we have in Christ (that he cleanse all our sins away) isn’t a ticket to go and sin cz we’ll be forgiven but should be used to obey God and purpose not to rely on own abilities or trying to get things done ourselves instead dwelling in him nd he makes us able. This is against the idea of “trying” - us trying to do better or get right with our efforts will always just Lead to failure but instead promoting the idea of walking in the spirit - crucifying the flesh and its desires - (painful experience rather than smoothly accomplishing but suffering the flesh and weakening it till you ultimately kill it (crucify it) ) the Holy Spirit will change our characters (do the work) only if we let him and fight with him not relying on our efforts but his abilities and having faith that he is able. When we truly have him then the fruit are clearly visible (-after the struggle - crucifixion of the flesh). “When Christ dwells in the heart, the soul will be so filled with His love, with the joy of communion with Him, that it will cleave to Him; and in the contemplation of Him, self will be forgotten.” Steps to Christ, p. 44
